Let’s Do It Together
On Friday the 14th of April most of the South Texas SCC congregations met at Fuente De Agua Viva in Los Fresnos to celebrate Good Friday together. It all started with a phone call from Pastor Alejo Solis asking to explore the possibility of having this celebration together. As it is in line with the district’s intent to work in unison, we decided to try it. Pastors met at a local restaurant to form goals, time, activities, persons, and themes for the gathering. We had the church create an a service around Isaiah 59:4-5. All of the congregations got invitations and the agenda. At the service five pastors brought 5 different ten to fifteen mini sermons from the themes “Jesus heading to Jerusalem,” “the Triumphant Entry,” “The Betrayal,” “The Passion of Christ,” and “It is done”. There was singing, praising, praying and just good fun. With the exception of the three who had prior arrangements, all of the congregations were present. It was wonderful to have old friends just worship the One True Lord together. I think the best time was the time after the service when persons were able to catch up with each other and touch base on events and happenings in their lives. I hope we are able to do this again often in other congregations. Lets worship God together.
