Assembly 2020 Will Happen Online!

Due to an unknown timeframe for the ability to safely gather in person, SCC leaders have made the hard decision NOT to meet in person as a conference this summer. We will, instead, host our first Interactive Digital SCC Assembly July 24-26, 2020 on Zoom. We will worship, pray, share, and make decisions around the theme “Why Church?” from I Peter 3:15. Look for more announcements soon including opportunities to help us by participating in video worship sessions. For now you can help by registering to attend the digital assembly at THIS LINK. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the online zoom gatherings. One of the beautiful gifts of this new format is that the logistical distance between us which usually separates those who can easily attend in person from those who cannot will disappear. We hope this will be our best attended assembly in years! Note: SCC bylaws grant every congregation 1 voting delegate per 25 members or fraction thereof (though ALL congregants are invited to participate in worship and listen in on business meetings). In addition, all active licensed or ordained pastors recognized by the conference are accorded delegate status. Attendees will be able to participate on Zoom using computers, tablets, mobile devices, or even call in via phone!
Schedule:
Friday July 24, 2020 7:00-8:30 PM CDT Zoom Worship: Why? (WHY is church important for us?)
Saturday July 25, 2020 9:00 AM- NOON CDT Zoom Delegate Business Meeting
Sunday July 26, 2020 9:00-9:45 AM CDT Zoom Discipleship Discussion: Join our worship leaders for a time of sharing about our theme, CHURCH (preparation materials will be sent out ahead of time)Sunday July 26, 2020- Morning Worship SCC is preparing a video service for Sunday Morning worship. We are encouraging all our congregations to use this video as their July 26th worship service (whether it is projected in person or shared digitally to homes or small group gatherings). As we study and worship from the same theme our prayer is that though we will be physically distant, the Spirit of God grants us unity and fellowship across the conference. The shared (conference wide) Worship will focus on CHURCH and why/how the CHURCH impacts the world.
