Eden Life Receives JoinHands Grant
Eden Life Church in Kansas City, Missouri received a $30,000 grant from JoinHands to help them with building expenses. Clarence Rempel, Tim Sweigert and James Wenger presented the check to the congregation at a worship service on Sunday, April 28, 2019. About $24,000 will be used to pay down the church’s mortgage so that a balloon payment of $36,000 will be eliminated at the end of 10 years and $6,000 will be used for building repairs. JoinHands is a program of Mennonite Men to help new congregations acquire their first building, providing up to 20% of the cost. Pastor Omot Aganya said that he was very grateful for this significant help that is encouraging them to continue their ministry. Every Sunday the Eden Life church has four services in four different languages: Amharic, Anouk, French and English. JoinHands seeks donations of $100 or more twice a year from individuals to fund these grants. They also encourage congregations to tithe their building programs to help with this work. Eden Life Church requests that we continue to pray for them.
