Pleasant View breaks ground and installs associate pastor
The transition from summer break to start of school has seen two memorable events take place at Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Hydro, OK. On August 14, the church broke ground on a building project that will include a new sanctuary, additional classrooms, a new library and new office space. Everyone present participated by adding rocks, not cut by human hands, to a cairn located at the building site. These rocks will be displayed in the new building as a reminder that we are each uniquely gifted but are part of one body with Jesus Christ as our head. Two weeks after the ground breaking, James Wenger, Regional Conference Minister, journeyed to Pleasant View to install and license our new Associate Pastor, Gabriel Pennington. Gabriel and his wife, Christa joined Pleasant View in July in response to God’s calling upon their lives. We look forward to what God has in store for our congregation as we continue to transition into who God is calling us to be.
