Whitestone Water Project
Knowing that a lack of access to clean water creates daily challenges for many brothers and sisters across the globe, Whitestone Mennonite Church wanted to share the Good News of Jesus in a tangible way by helping provide water to a community in Zimbabwe. Phase 1 of their project, completed in 2020, was to raise funds for and install a well and water system in one of their pastors, Ron Moyo’s, home community. The well now gives the entire community easy and free access to drinking water and supplies water to grow a garden that is producing enough for their needs plus excess to take to market. Phase 2 of the project, completed this year, was to provide a tractor and truck that would facilitate increased production from the garden as well as provide transportation of the goods to market.
Pastor Ron says, “The positive impact of our sharing the good news goes beyond what meets the eye. Now you have friends in Zimbabwe who mention Whitestone as they pray, because you have invested in a good relationship and brought good news to them.”Praise God for these gifts of both water and new friendships!
