Pleasant Valley Reaches Neighbors
Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper hosts an English as a second language event each week for 20 or so persons who want to learn English. Isaac and Carina Shue (pictured above) provide leadership for this group with the help of others. On Valentine’s Day they had a potluck together and then played games as their activity for the evening. I had the opportunity to attend and observed all in attendance enjoying their time together. At a time when people from other countries are not sure that they will continue to be welcomed here, it is wonderful to see Pleasant Valley reach out a hand of friendship to their neighbors. Pleasant Valley Church also cooperates with the Methodist Church next door in providing a meal and services for children and youth on Wednesday evenings.
