A Warm Winter Welcome

Hesston Mennonite Church offered a warm winter welcome to their cross-campus neighbors at Hesston College. We prayed for rich learning experiences, delightful new adventures, and deeper relationships with Christ and the people surrounding each of the students. While the congregation longs to meet the students in person, to welcome them into our worship space and homes, and to celebrate the winter season with cozy conversations and hot drinks, this was something our congregation could do in their absence. The congregation was invited to bring coffee mugs and drink mixes to the church to share with each of the students as a way of forming a relationship and offering support. The congregation is going to return every month with another goodie to ‘fill up their cups’ and continue to offer them up in prayer. In February the second round of mug mixes, cake in a mug, are being delivered. With everything that has been missed or changed or lost this year, we wanted to use this opportunity to build our connection and relationship with our neighbors.
